It a known fact that open defecation pollutes the environment and causes health problems and diseases. It predisposes water and food to fecal contamination and may cause diarrhoea and other related diseases.
That is why we are generating long term data series in Anyako, Anyanui and Atiteti (Volta Region), Eastern Coast; Opetekwei (Greater Accra Region), and Mumford (Central Region), Central Coast of Ghana to understand the interactions between environmental parameters and health management with the aim to among other things, improve diarrhoeal management in coastal communities.
