This artificial island in the Korle Lagoon is made of waste, all types of waste, blocking the water from flowing into the sea. A few miles away is Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, crowded with patients suffering from diarrhoea and other related diseases. Efforts have been made over the years to dredge this lagoon, but the effects still linger on.
