As part of our efforts, we are modelling the interactions between climatic, hydrological, environmental, epidemiological, institutional and socio-cultural determinants of diarrhoea within the eastern and central coasts of Ghana. Our Work Package 1 research team, co-led by Dr. Benjamin O. Botwe, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences, University of Ghana has been undertaking samples collection including pathogenic agents causing diarrhoea (biological) as well as physicochemical parameters for groundwater and soils since 2020.
We hope to among other things, improve diarrhoeal management in our coastal communities for better health outcomes for all.
